RamiahJ

A modern African marketplace.

Germany · 2025
The Challenge

African commerce is still split across informal channels, isolated storefronts, and social selling. Customers lack a single place to discover products, and vendors lack the infrastructure to list inventory, manage orders, and sell online with a consistent, accessible experience.

The Approach

We designed and built RamiahJ as one digital ecosystem: product discovery, vendor listings, and online commerce in a single marketplace. The product is built for African consumers and businesses — modern and accessible on the storefront, and operational for vendors who need to showcase and sell at scale.

The Product

The live platform is a customer-facing marketplace with product discovery and browsing, vendor storefronts, and a shopping experience on web, iOS, and Android. Vendors get product and store management so they can list, sell, and operate alongside other businesses on the same infrastructure.

The Engineering

The storefront, vendor surfaces, and mobile apps are React. The API is Express, with Mongoose on MongoDB for catalog, vendor, and order data, and Redis for caching. Infrastructure runs on AWS — EC2 for compute, S3 for product media, and SES for transactional email — so the marketplace can scale across multiple vendors and products.
