UK · 2022Electricity prices move through the day, but most homes still pay as if they do not. Bills do not show when usage is cheap or expensive, and smart-meter data is hard to turn into a clear picture of consumption, storage, and savings — especially for households that want to participate without installing new hardware.
We designed and built a platform that sits on existing smart meters and energy data. The live surface is a 90-day experiment for eligible UK Octopus Energy customers: analyse household patterns against changing prices, with onboarding and eligibility flows that require no install and no change in routine. Around that core we built the infrastructure for optimisation, battery management, wallets, and solar financing.
The current product runs the 90-day smart-meter experiment — consumption analytics, dynamic price analysis, and qualification for UK Octopus homes. The same platform carries energy optimisation workflows, battery and energy management, digital wallet integration, and solar financing, with web and mobile onboarding. Broader direction includes AI-driven optimisation and energy trading on this foundation.
We built the technology layer that connects smart-meter feeds, consumption analytics, and dynamic pricing to customer onboarding and eligibility on web and mobile. Optimisation, battery management, wallet, and solar-financing workflows sit on the same data platform so households and businesses can move from insight to action without a separate stack for each product surface.
